Botox Treatment

Botulinum Toxin Type A (BTX) is a prescribed injectable medication used to block nerve impulses to muscles, sweat glands and pain receptors.

It has a wide range of uses and has been used for many years to treat various facial tics and spasms, to treat cervical dystonia (neck weakness) and over active bladder problems.

Additional smaller areas           £30.00

Excessive sweating                   £300.00

How does BTX work?

When BTX is injected into a muscle it prevents nerve impulses arriving at the muscle to cause contraction. This temporarily weakens muscle activity.

It is mainly used in medical aesthetics to soften lines on the face which are developed overtime by repeated muscle movement and of course by the ageing process. The effect is completely reversible in time and the muscle itself is not damaged.

How is the treatment administered?

BTX is injected using a disposable syringe with a very fine needle; minute amounts of BTX are injected very precisely into several locations on the face, which are determined by carefully examining the movements of the muscle of your face.

The pain associated with the injections is minimal and can any potential discomfort and be minimised by using a topical anaesthetic prior to

treatment if required.

The injection procedure takes around fifteen minutes and the results are a

youthful refreshing look with a normal facial expression.

Where can BTX be injected?

The 3 main areas for injections are:

  • Frown

  • Forehead

  • Crow’s feet

Other area’s regularly treated:

  • Bunnies (over the nose)

  • Chin (prevent dimpling of the chin with movement)

  • Neck (treat banding of the neck)

  • Top Lip (peri oral vertical lines)

  • Side’s of the mouth (DAO turn up the corner’s of the mouth)

  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
